The Stand 2024 Registrations

View Youth Tygerberg Hills will be joining The Stand in March 2024. The Stand is an unforgettable Youth & Young Adult annual camp that takes place at Bergkroon campsite in Wellington, with the focus being God’s Word and Worship. It is an initiative of the Assemblies of God Group and we believe that our generation has the potential to change not only our world, but THE world! So, we would love you to join us as we come together from all across the Western Cape for ONE NAME.

 

SERVING AT THE STAND 2024

 

THE STAND is a great opportunity for students and young adults to serve the next generation, while having an incredible experience themselves. There are various areas where students and young adults are able to serve: on crew where you get to do all the setup, security, sweeping & running the games. Sounds like hard work, but it’s loads of fun. Maybe serving in the kitchen is for you, using your skills to cook for 800 hungry people. You could also sign up to serve as a group leader, production or as a medic. No matter where you serve, you’ll love it! Just remember, camp is from Friday to Monday (in case you put in a leave application J). When signing up, please provide a reference (group leader, church leader) so parents of our teens know that we know who will be around their children.

Camp Details

Date: Wednesday 20 March 2024 – Saturday 23 March 2024
Check in at campsite: 15:00
Check out from campsite: 13:00
Where: Bergkroon Faith Centre, Wellington (directions)
Registration: Registrations close 3 March 2024


Transportation

  • We have booked a bus that will leave from Tygerberg High School on Wednesday 20 March at 14:00.
  • Please ensure your teen is at the school 13:40 the latest. We are not able to lift any teens from home to the school. Please arrange a lift for them.
  • We will return on Saturday around 3pm. Will message on the group once we leave the campsite.
  • Transport fee is R50 and can be paid when we leave (or EFT and POP sent through)

Indemnity

  • Please download & sign the indemnity, and send it to hello@tygerberghills.church by Sunday 18 March.
  • Printed versions will be available at the info desk on Sunday or at View Youth on Friday.

What to Bring

  • Bible, journal, pen, book to read
  • Sleeping bag, pillow, sheet
  • Swimming gear, sunblock, hat, water bottle
  • Toiletries, towel, plakkies for the shower
  • Plate, coffee cup, spoon, knife, fork, drying up cloth
  • Warm clothing, comfortable shoes for a walk/run
  • Snacks to share
  • Torch
  • Spending money for tuck-shop & merchandise
  • Please ensure your bag, sleeping bag & any valuable items are well labelled
  • You may NOT bring the following:
    • Alcohol, cigarettes, drugs or vapes (or the likes)
    • Guns, knives or any other weapon
    • A bad attitude

To Parents & Guardians:

Your teenagers will be attending The Stand Camp which is run by the Assemblies of God Group. It will take place at Bergkroon Camp site in Wellington. There will be medical personnel on-site as well as many adults overseeing the running of the camp. Camp fees are non-refundable, but can be transferred to an unpaid camper. By registering you agree to The Stand using this information for The Stand related management & to receive communication regarding The Stand.
