Ps Kelly Cicatello

This week Ps Kelly continued our series Live Like Jesus and focused on the Holy Spirit. We watched a short clip on the Holy Spirit, which referred to Genesis 1, and explaining the word Ruach, showing us all the people in the Bible that the Holy Spirit helped / transformed and renewed.

Ps Kelly spoke about how there was a time where the physical presence of God was seen in the old testament. In the new testament we saw Jesus physically live as a person and performed miracles with the help of the Holy Spirit. Later on the Holy Spirit worked in people to perform these miracles, thus there is no tangible image of God but we can bear witness of His works.

How did Jesus relate to the Holy Spirit while He was on earth? How was His ministry empowered? He actively put down his deity, and in doing so, chose to pick up humanity, also known as kenosis. Thus Jesus was empowered by the Holy Spirit to perform His work on earth. John 3:34-35 – Jesus became fully man, examples are where he was hungry, angry, wept, felt joy, showed and felt compassion. He also had a soul, so he definitely lived a full human life, yet was fully dependant on Holy Spirit.
